Environment and Development
In our infant program, supportive teachers promote development through nurturing relationships while the babies expand their physical skills as they learn to move and handle toys. Our primary goal is to provide your child with fun, comfortable environment to learn and grow, while also giving you as a parent peace of mind.
Because every child is unique, we fervently try to maintain the personal schedules they have at home. Upon enrollment, you will be asked what times your infant typically eats, naps, plays, arrives and departs during the day, so that we can adequately prepare them for each step. As they advance, we are happy to work with you to refine the schedule as it suits them.
Interfaith Campus Preschool has chosen Creative Curriculum as the framework for daily interactions with children in our Infant and Toddler classrooms. This curriculum outlines the things learned by children from birth to age 3, the experiences through which children achieve their learning goals, what the staff can do to help children reach these goals, and the materials needed to support the curriculum. During the day, we actively try to incorporate music, art, reading, and other appropriate activities to enhance their development in conjunction with this program.
We also believe outdoor exploration is just as important as indoor play time! Weather permitting, babies are taken outside to either play if they are mobile or cruise in our strollers if they aren’t quite moving yet. It is our hope that the infants in our care will begin to take in the wonders of the world by studying all the curious things found in the great outdoors!
Infant Safety
In our nursery, your infant’s safety is our number-one concern. Cribs are not shared and regularly sanitized, and babies are placed on their backs or sides to sleep (unless otherwise authorized by a pediatrician through a signed note). Proper child-to-teacher ratios are constantly maintained, all classrooms are “child-proof,” and every toy is age-appropriate as well as frequently sanitized. All staff are trained in CPR and emergency protocol.
