It all started with a question.
In 1976, Reverend James Smith of John Knox Presbyterian Church (JKPC) asked Reverend Tom Douce of Interfaith Campus Ministries, “How can we be of service to our surrounding institutions of higher learning?”
Reverend Douce replied that there was a great need for the child care of local Stark Campus students and faculty children. A task force was quickly assembled to make this dream a reality. In January of 1977, the Campus Child Care Center was established and provided care for a handful of children ranging from 2-5 years old. Today the center has been renamed — Interfaith Preschool & Child Care Center— and has grown to house nearly 100 children ages 6 weeks to 10 years, every day.
After more than 40 years serving local students and the community as a whole, we still strive for excellence in everything we do. We hold ourselves to the highest of standards. We have a foundation of trust with our children and parents, and offer a fun, supportive environment for all who attend!
